I am confused and this has no doubt been explained before but why are some coins VAT exempt?

I was also confused. On the main page it says produced by the Pressburg Mint (Slovakia) but in 'additional information' it says the mint is Geiger Edelmetalle (Germany)?

I'm sure they are from Pressburg but I wonder if they are partners?

I have checked our listings and somehow the Geiger-Edelmetalle mint has been wrongly set as an attribute in the specification, when yes it should be the Pressburg Mint, which is quoted in the description elsewhere. Thank you for pointing this out. Now corrected!
