Always cast your vote - Spoil your ballot slip. Put 'Spoilt Ballot - I do not consent.' These votes are counted. If you do not do this you are consenting to the tyranny. None of them are fit for purpose.
A tyranny relies on propaganda and force. Once the propaganda fails all that's left is force.

I don't really understand the point he is trying to make?

Ok back 300 years ago we had silver and gold money, what was life like for the ordinary man? wasn't there more rigid class systems, wasn't there still a massive wealth divide between nobility and everyone else, serfdom

The problem isn't money it's human psychology, we're too easily manipulated; people with dark triad personality types find a way to herd everyone else

I think we probably evolved as a species being able to adjust to harsh conditions and make the best of it, how else do people adjust to living with domestic abuse, prison, war etc and carry on, that adaptability and "making the best out of our lot" is exploited

If the population does rise up it will be with someone leading with their own agenda and you overthrow a monarchy and end up with something that suits them and is still rubbish for everyone else like communism

The people who want to lead are generally the ones you should be scared of,  but the people who want to lead are the only ones who stand up to lead, we're always being led down the garden path

This video is of historical interest. The origin of the pound Sterling, the £ symbol, the Troy ounce, 240 old pennies in the pound and so on.
For once i am not attempting to make any socio-political point.

3:32 'the other metal that they alloy with the coin'.

sterling silver coins are made up of mixtures, usually copper added to 92.5% silver.

true bronze coins are actually alloys of copper and tin, but that has nothing to do with pound sterling.

what a long winded way to present general facts- it takes him 17mins.

The origin of words is always interesting, especially ones we use regularly. From memory, the word "Dollar" is a corruption of "Thaler" while "pieces of eight" is from fractional "pesos".

Yea this is copy and pasted around the net like it is the holy grail. However Scotland is the origin of the word Dollar and were the first country to use the term to describe a coin. Scotland was first to make an actual dollar.
