American Eagle 1/4 Oz Gold Coin - Sales Advice

Hello all and a very merry Christmas!

As you'll see from my profile I am new to The Silver Forum. I have, however, been active on several other sites and in groups of a similar nature to this site on Facebook.

I would like to start off by stating that this is not a sales post. Instead, this is a post asking for sales advice.

I have an American Eagle 1/4 Oz Gold Coin from 2002 slabbed and graded by NGC as MS69 which I would like to sell. I have been advised by some friends, collectors and sellers that The Silver Forum can be a very good place to do this. That being said, where would I start? As a new member I am more than aware of how cautious people would be around buying from me - particularly when it comes to high value items. What is the protocol here? All sellers have to start somewhere, so are there any tips or advice you could give me on how best to go about selling on this forum?

I reiterate that this is not a sales post and when the time comes for me to list my American Eagle for sale on this forum it will be done properly and conducted in the open for everybody to see my name and date and detailed pictures of the item up for sale. I have sold online via Facebook groups before and it's all been done good and proper.

I look forward to hearing back from members of this forum.

All the best,

Duncan.

Yh list it for the price that you are asking, the more competitive the price is the higher the chance of a sale via the forum. As you are new depending on the buyer some may ask you to send first then they will clear the debt once item is delivered and they are satisfied. Only do this with reputable members and those who have been here longer then 1 year.

Generally speaking you can find some middle ground on price and delivery.

Welcome and hopefully we will see your 1/4oz on the trade section soon

I am not sure about the 1 year or longer from ;) ... as I have been on here since April :) ...but also have done a lot of trades and have a great developing trade history.

The key points I look at before trading/buying from anyone...

1) How long has the person been on TSF. A week, 6 months or years?

2) Are they a paid member. Ie Do they invest in TSF. People with “skin in the game” are motivated to stay in TSF and keep up a great reputation.

3) Whats their trading history like, and in particular would had written the reviews. Reviews from longer servicing members/ admins also have a great impact. Follow the led on people like BYB and Chris, Ash, Tn21 and others.

In summary I would if you planning to sell expect people to want yoU to have some trades under your belt. Selling very different than buying.
