NGC Pop Reports are a mess?

Recommended Posts

So I'm compiling lots of data for the website and I've just started looking at NGC's pop data and it seems like a total mess. They just add new entries all over the place trying to correct or add upon previous errors they've made.

Has anyone else experienced this with their own submitted coins, it skews the data a lot, do they not care?

Example:

1871S SHIELD
1SOV    MS    51

1871S SHIELD - "WW" INCUSED
1SOV    MS    41

1871S SHIELD - "WW" RAISED
1SOV    MS    26

So now is the raised variety 106113 or 106124?

Might be the 1871S SHIELD (106113) came before they realised there's two sorts and they can be either raised or incused in this category.

I think this is the case in e.g., 1881M ST.GEORGE where all the tail lengths are lumped in one category.

This would suggest raised is 106124 and 106123 is incused:

Just a guess. 🤷‍♂️

Well yes lots of misinformation out there, but that's what I'm trying to clear up and this just doesn't help with my automatic pricing calcs!

Ignore the USD figures in image, it's a work in progress but coming along nicely :)
