The way I do it is edit the original post and delete the tag then add one that says completed

Once they're sold/withdrawn the thread should be changed at that time.  If it's past the time limit then you can hit the report button with a request to change the prefix.

Yes I'm referring to it being past the limit, if you want to put it down as a suggestion for the devs then go for it
