1oz American Buffalo or 1oz Generic gold bar

Blehhhh

Strange question,

But given the option of either, no difference in price.

Which do you take, the American Buffalo or a generic gold bar (could end up being either Perth mint or Unicore or Metalor)

And why?

I would choose the gold Buffalo. I know, of course, that gold Buffalos and gold bars are both bullion but there is nothing aesthetically appealing about gold bars to keep me stacking them. It’s always best in my opinion to invest in a variety of gold coins. Here’s my gold Buffalo and you’re damn right, @JunkBond, how reluctant I am to sell my beautiful golden beast.

Buffalos are gorgeous coins - likely carries a re-sale premium compared to a generic bar.

The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary. - H.L. Mencken

"same price" who wouldn't go for the Buffalo? I always buy the cheapest one ounce pure gold I can fine, I don't care about the "premium" coins because when you need to sell them in a hurry you will not get premium price.
