Advice needed on Sovereigns

Hi all!

Can anyone recommend a reference book on sovereigns? Preferably the book on sovereigns with history, pictures and price guide. Is there something like the famous US red book just for sovereigns? I really would like to get my hands on some rarities to bring my coin hobby to the next level. So far I only bought a few bullion sovereigns. Saw a few books online but none convinced me so far. Thank you for any recommendation.

There isn't a book that does it all. You need a latest edition Marsh, this gives you the info and relative rarity. For prices, it's useful to have a Spink catalogue but you can easily do without this as it's a broad brush and not detailed enough. A combination of rarity from Marsh and keeping an eye on ebay and auction prices is the best way to assertain current values.
