Expensive coins..due diligence etc

Good afternoon all,

I have been considering diversifying my gold stack which is currently mainly bullion in the form of sovereigns and a few one ounce coins. I do have some Vicky shields, a 2017 proof and a 2017 SOTD. I have now come to the point where I would like to buy something really nice that will hold it's value over the next ten to twenty years and will be a highlight in my collection. I am thinking a graded, mint state, 1817 sovereign. Long term I would like to add a 1989 and a 1937 too.

Can anyone, or hopefully many, offer any advice of where I can find details of the sort of prices I would be looking at? I have been looking at eBay, various dealer's websites and www.londoncoins.co.uk. thus far. I have to say this is somewhat out of my comfort zone currently so any other advice would be very welcome indeed.

Thanks in advance.
