Having received an email from the Royal Mint proudly announcing an extension of their 25% discount ( on margin - read carefully  ) they are still over-priced compared to Atkinsons.

@Pete I was also very disappointed as well. Royal Mint have only reduced 25% off the premium appreciation on existing coins not new releases (stayed the same price). The only coins worth buying (only if you have missed out on these coins when initially released) are the Lion/Griffin.

Benefits of free market, buy from Atkinsons.  Maybe send a mail to RM telling them.

Never been a huge fan of these high premium coins... Seems very speculative. I mean don't get me wrong, they look great and I would get a couple of them once the premiums get down to 3%-5%.

I got mine in USA for 1330 USD when gold was a bit higher. I think that the bullion coins are many times the way to go. The biggest laugher is the QB in silver with the bullion 10 oz going for about 180 and the proof 500% marked up from that!
