Pandas for Scott

Recommended Posts

Hi everybody,

Just a quick hello from a new member here on the forum. My name is Scott and I come from and live in Scotland. As you can see from my forum name I like the design of the Chinese Panda coins and I already have two 1oz silver, two 1/10oz and one 1/20oz gold coins plus some small silver and gold bars. I wasn't sure what product or material to buy so bought a spread of all to see what felt right in the hand and think that coins have the most appeal for me especially the Chinese Panda although I also quite like the Britannia and Vienna Philharmonic. I've joined up just to get a bit of guidance on how best to go about efficiently 'stacking' (I'm not sure I like that term!) and hopefully making my money stretch a bit further. I have spent a wee bit of money so far with what I bought but I am happy with my purchases but looking to expand my coin holdings.

I am looking forward gaining knowledge from my fellow forumites and contributing where I can although and I am more of a lurker when it comes to internet fora.

Kindest Regards,

Scott.

Hi Scott and welcome to the forum.

Hopefully you got to buy on the recent dip in silver, unfortunately I missed out but will be putting a order in with STG in November.

The Pandas are a really nice designs,  I am waiting to see if STG get them in the next couple of weeks so I can add them to my order.

Not so keen on the Vienna Philharmonics but as a silver coin very good value, (also look at the RCM Maples if you don't fear milk spots). That said I do have some.

Gold I like gold, especially sovereigns.

Hi Scott, good to heave you here.

I have a small, very small date run of Pandas too, 2010 to current year. I can't wait to get my hands on a few of the new 2015 coins when they are released. Good choice!

I also have the philharmonics, good inexpensive bullion. Grab a tube whenever you can. I can also suggest the Noah's Ark coins, I think they are great looking, and again, great bullion coins, and inexpensive.

Welcome to the forum mate. :)

Hi Scott, welcome to the forum! I love the Panda coins as well. Only have 1 gold one, 2013, one of the best years in my opinion. Oh and a 2006, forgot about that one. But as capital allows I will hopefully collect more.

The silver ones I have a few, 2011, 12, 13, 14. I think I might have a 09 and 10 as well. They are lonely coins, eventually when I have money to burn I might buy a full date run of those.

My posts are my personal opinions, they do not constitute advice or financial advice.

Hi again,

Thanks for your warm welcomes. I have a bit of money burning a hole in my pocket at the minute so will probably make a purchase in a week or so, almost certainly from Silver-to-Go, probably not a large one and may just get a small selection of different coins, again to see what feels right in the hand.

Thanks again,

Scott.
