I would like to get anyone's thoughts on a new site i came across yesterday. name airgeadcoin.com

I have always been brought up to believe in the value of precious metals but I believe we are in a loosing battle as their true value will never be truly realized.

It's destroying me, cryptocoins keep going up in value I see a dog on a coin and its market valuation is over 150 million and i just don't get it.

I have invested most of my money is precious metals but they are going no where and i can't really use them for anything.

Then i came across this site yesterday that made a lot of sense to me.

I would ask that we start a group discussion about it and get some thoughts together about it.

Okay, i have been investing in silver and gold for over 20 years now.

Hoping for one day that silver and gold prices would rocket to the moon.

All i hear today is bitcoin and it's like i am been forced to sell my precious metals for something that has no value, what they enjoy in freedom I don't enjoy anymore with precious metals.

Then i came across this site yesterday and it promised to free precious metals, ,maybe you should look over the site it will explain it a lot better than i can.

I believe pm's are never going to the moon - however a lot on here will tell you differently. If you watch on YouTube there are a lot of dead channels because every so often new people get in hoping for the moon scenario then it never happens they sell and give up. I would use pm's more as a saving mechanism than a to the moon investment. I could be wrong i'm sure someone on here will be the first to tell me.

Bitcoin and other cryptos still have a lot to grow as they don't even yet have a 5% impact to the overall market. Think what will the price be when every high street shop is accepting it. There will be correction and there will be more price hikes. So far its been easy to gauge it as its only up. If you don't know what you are doing I wouldn't get it. Use gambling money only and what you are willing to lose completely.

One difference crypto could go to 0. pm's could never go to 0. if they got close all i know is id be buying more.

As it is still in the infant stages a lot of the websites you look at are ponzi schemes. Its hard to tell the real from the fake. However, if they have anything like 1% return a day id stay clear.

Do what you feel is right but it depends on your exposure to risk. I am young enough to make it back so i have risked a few thousand into mining equipment.

If anyone tells you they know bitcoin will go to 100k i wouldnt listen to them.

With both PM's and crypto

Do research and more research

Learn to differentiate between truths and bullcrap

Only spend what your willing to lose

Realized short-medium-long term goals need different approaches.

And most importantly be lucky?

Keep the faith in PM's.. like delboy says "One Day"

Precious metals are not a get rich quick scheme and never have been. They are a preservation of wealth...

If you want them to shoot for the moon then you are betting on a global collapse of modern economics and markets.

Even in this situation would you actually make money? Yes on paper the numbers have gone up and you made money, but if the cost of a loaf of bread and a pint of milk has gone up 1000% because your currency is worthless then all that cash you "made" from precious metals is worth the same...which means you have preserved your wealth!

Cryptos are a hype that carry a very very dangerous element. They are unregulated, the currency of choice for terrorists and criminals and are in a huge bubble...what happens to the price of bitcoin if everyone thinks to themselves tomorrow...yep that is it for me, I'm selling my bitcoin. The price collapses and lots of people lose a lot of money.

The problems with cryptos in my mind is...where is the money coming from? All the bit coins that are in existence are worth a certain amount at the moment...but only a certain amount has been put into it by users...

Let's say for simplicity all the bitcoins in the world are "worth" $1 billion right now. This is an inflated value of what people have put in...you can earn bit coins by mining or being part of the blockchain or by processing transactions...so there is less than $1 billion in the "currency" so if everyone wanted to get their "value" out...where does the money come from?

It comes from Joe public who jumps on bitcoin and other cryptos because they are greedy and want to make 1000% returns and get rich quick.

I have a video coming out tomorrow on these and other thoughts on cryptos...as you can tell I am not a fan.

I think it's a lot safer to put (at this moment) a part of your savings in PM's then in crypto's. However i have to admit i'm also interested in crypto's, i still have a bit the idea it's a bubble ready to burst. I don't (and probably will never) have that feeling with silver, gold, platinum, etc. There are so many risks involved with investing in crypto's and however a lot of peoples made very nice money with it, the saying goes 'if a taxi driver is buying the same stocks as you do, it's  time to sell'. To many peoples talk about crypto's and are investing a hell of a lot of money in it without knowing how it actually works and what the risks are. Just my 2 cents...

Just to clarify...I don't begrudge you if you have invested in cryptos and have made money (and actually withdrawn it and have the cash in the bank).

But what I don't like is people thinking they have to jump on the bandwagon to make money like other people have been doing. The ones who made the most money with cryptos are those who got in right at the start...not those who got in a mo the ago.

Hi @zugman,

I see that you and @change are both from Ireland.

From the website:

'We are an Irish based team who strongly believe in the future of real money and only through Airgead Coin can we fulfil this dream.'

What a lucky coincidence.

Personal freedom and economic freedom are indivisible. You can’t have one without the other. You can’t lose one without losing the other.'

Oh and I also have a problem with people who push cryptos as a money making scheme or get rich quick scheme...

Just incase the many coincidences that are fairly obvious are true...

Anyone who reads the "information" on the airgead website and thinks to themselves that that sounds legit and easy and a revolutionary way of working with PM's should Google "airhead" instead of "airgead"

Cryptos like this are just unregulated junk - whoever set this website up could have done a better job going to a DIY website builder...

Yes I do indeed. I am happy to be proven wrong but I just cannot see crypto as anything else other than a fiat currency with 0 regulation and a huge hype and bubble around it.

Buying PM's with bitcoin would be the best way to spend your bitcoins at the moment - no reliance on cashing out via regular bit coin transactions which I have read can take days or weeks sometimes and that is just with regular traffic.

Imagine what happens when the rush hits. People will not be able to get their money out and when they finally do the value of their bitcoins will be tiny.

Also, ask yourself why would someone who processes transactions which devalues the currency they get paid in has any incentive to process the transactions?

I don't think I'll ever be getting to the moon with pm's I Invest in them as a savings.... simple because one paper and plastic is basically as receipt  (technically) 1) I always end up loosing it 2). I'm crap at saving money so I buy what I can afford pm wise and hand over the bank card to the wife haha, I'm yet to discover and understand bitcoin/crypto im but still in the woods and nothing has tempted me not even a little

I'm going to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but here goes....

I'm suspicious of crypto currencies. It seems to me just another way that 'the elite' get their grubby mitts on every last pound that the working man earns.

And we, the working men, are fools! Blind to it.

Just like the bloody lottery and all its spin offs.

As I said, there is a reason it is the currency of choice for criminals and terrorists

It is only used by them because it is encrypted. Though this is wereit started the currencies are used less and less for criminals. If you go and watch the live trades of hundreds of thousands and millions that is not the criminals who were using bitcoin to buy drugs on the silk road. These transactions are being done by the likes of global banks. I suppose you could call the banks criminal tbh

Problem with crypto-currencies (or PM's, for that matter) is you can't pay your taxes with them........

Exactly what I was thinking!... for me I don't put money into anything unless I need what I'm spending it on... that little bit of wealth preserved by me and other alike take that little bit of power and loosens the grip from the big fat cats that's my opinion any how :)

There's a documentary on silk road and bitcoin origin... the site got shut down and others alike are copycats but that's a different matter mostly full of criminal activity
