25 Sovereign Tubes, don't hold 25?

So, I guess a nice surprise occurred today. I've purchased lots of 25 sovereign tubes, and monster boxes etc in the past to store old sovereigns. Today I was shocked when 58 newly arrived young heads fit into just 2 tubes, with space left...

Turns out 31 fit into these tubes, is this common knowledge? I assume they are they just thinner?

So I have quite a few more sovereigns than I've accounted for :D

My silver Britannia tubes hold 26 coins. Have to be careful when it comes to selling off a tube of coins, must remember there's a little more in there!

You can even fit 14 Queens Beast inside (and maybe some 1/4oz or 1/10oz gold inside the lid – will have to try).

I always wonder if the dealers check the coins since they are sometimes sellotaped and have varying polystyrene fillers for the space.
