closed 200g gold bullion bars (2x 100g) certified Unicore bars, sealed and un-touched
Roy replied to NicholasBullion's topic in UK (Ungraded)
Cut them in two? 🙈 -
Yes to both, and both are as a result of excessive money printing- debasement of currency and rising interest rates. But it don't matter, folk were paid to stay at home and offered loans that they would never pay back. Did anyone offer to pay back the money they had sitting idle in their accounts after the furlough had stopped?

The RM have been making quarter sovs since 2009. Perhaps not the smallest coin, but the one that comes to mind, is the .900 Dos Pesos. https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces13933.html

I'm sorry you feel that way. Have you had a bad experience trading on the forum?
-
Totally agree with this. It sounds like the woke brigade are here and want their noses wiped and their shoelaces tied! 😇 It's an adult forum where people can buy/sell/trade in precious metals and where there's opportunity there's also risk. You must avoid, or at least mitigate, said risks, and you must use all your 'special skills'. As @motorbikez quotes, 'the problem with common sense is that it isn't that common' If something sounds too good to be true, then it probably is. @ChrisSilver has been clear from the forum beginnings that 'The Forum' is not liable for and cannot mediate any trading. 'Disclaimer: The following applies to all Members/Sellers on the forum. Members trade at their own risk. The Silver Forum does not vet any members/sellers on the forum and neither myself nor the forum is liable for any loss(es) that may result from trades. Myself and The Silver Forum also can not mediate any trades, this is between the two parties to discuss and resolve any issues that they might have.' And suggests: 'Members may wish to use PayPal for added PayPal buyer protection. Note that PayPal gift payments are not covered under the PayPal buyer protection. You may also wish to take advantage of @BackyardBullion Intermediary service, this service is aimed at reducing risk and is especially useful if you are a new members without any trading reputation on the forum.' He's facilitated £750,000 worth of trades this year alone and probably values his reputation more than that. He's earnt it. Don’t try and figure out a solution to what isn’t really a problem.

I'm probably repeating what others have said, but fractional gold will always be liquid and, unless you are forced to sell for spot (or 97% 😟), the premium you pay at purchase will generally be recouped at sale. One ounce coins have the lowest premium but unless you plan to liquidate at a dealer, you may struggle to find a buyer as the gold price increases. I was drawn to this route but soon changed tack as I found I was was getting too many cheeky offers. I suggest smaller gold coins have to rise in popularity. A few years ago, a sovereign was £200, now a half sovereign is £200. An ounce was £800 and now 1/2 ounce is £800. This is because our fiat currency is depreciating yet our wages are not doubling to cover this. Sure, if our wages had increased 100% in the last few years, an ounce would be just as easily affordable. (I'm specifically talking about bullion)

It's impossible to get a fair trade with silver and gold because of the premium and VAT, I mean nobody buys silver premium and vat free do they? 😉

@NGMD, great result with these coins! All popular year/designs 👍

Banking app: go paperless or stop using it
Roy replied to JohnA1's topic in Personal Finance / Other Investments
Yup, been doing so for yonks 👍 -
@Richard82, having slept on this, I'm respectfully withdrawing my offer to trade. It's grossly unfair to you and my reputation would suffer if I'm seen to take advantage of a new member so early in his forum experience. All is not lost. I suggest you sell one of your coins for its market value and buy my coins with the proceeds, again at market value. This way, you'll be quids in and your first transactions will be happy ones. Roy

Or, as Andrew Cooper, the Tory candidate in last week’s Tamworth by election, put it: jobless parents who are struggling to feed their children while paying for a phone should “f*ck off”. Hear, hear.
-
Good, then it's a win-win. WE'll exchange details tomorrow by PM. Richard, I will have to ask you to send first because of your lack of feedback, ok?
-
I'm willing to do a deal but let's sleep on it. I'll trade for the 2023 Britannia.
-
Can I see the Britannia and the Beast please?
-
Yes, but please understand this is heavily in my favour. Can you provide pics please?
-
I have all of those years for you. Check back next week 👍

Tricky one, this. It's a special reverse, graded MS67 DPL, whatever that means? Somewhere between BU and proof? I don't know. NGC list 11 at this grade and 13 in higher grades. Bullion mintage is 750,000. Unsolicited comments welcome if you can supply source 👍
