  1. Well I'm not sure I can help you with that but presumably anyone who opened the thread would see -gag notwithstanding- that the offer is £50 each, £100 for two. I'm unaware of any iron rule that states one must discount on more than one item and I don't plan on creating one, not on these at least. I have sold several of the same for £75 each elsewhere (no not always Ebay) so I consider the price more than generous, and my final offer to all you lovely people of Silver Forum land.

  2. In pristine, BU condition. No toning or milk spots. £18 each or £35 for two.

I have a large number of 2009 Maples in untoned, uncirculated condition available. Just PM if interested. Cheers!

Others have said that but I think she is better in the flesh.

Aren't they always... wait, are we still talking about the same thing? :D In seriousness though comparing to the bullion coin I got today they don't quite seem to match. She appears more elegant to me on the version to hand.

Compliments on your taste re the Merc too. Seems slightly odd to me that they went with a 1/10th oz version... why not just make them of the same dimensions as the much loved silver coins? Density issues I suppose in terms of getting it to match size wise, but they could have made it 90% like the original if it helped. Would (could?) have been cheaper to the consumer. I know, I'm being a pedant. I'll probably get one anyway when I can free up more cash. Thanks for sharing.

  5. Silver with a minor foray into gold... 3 2016 bullion Brits (really like the matte finish, they should carry on with that imo) plus a 1989 Manx Angel (just as I was saying I didn't buy Pobjoy ), a 2016 Lunar Monkey & a 2016 Maple.

ps does anyone know if the Manx is proof or bullion uncirculated? I can't quite tell and it wasn't specified... or rather it was a sort of lucky dip.

The Libs are gorgeous! You must be loving them. I know people are into this year's Brit proof but she looks a bit out of proportion to me. Maybe it's my eyes...

I'm buying these soley as a collector.  I'm not fussed if they gain any premium in the future but as long as they're not crazy money, I will continue to buy.

And I think that's the way you have to approach it really. Then it comes down to a simple matter of desire and affordability.

  8. Thanks for the reply. I really liked the Delta too although I'd have preferred Kirk (Shatner) on the obverse rather than Her Maj... I baulked at the premium though. Not much chance I would have got one anyway seeing as they sold out in seconds but my mindset was "how many sovs could I get for the same price?" With prices out of control on the secondary market I shouldn't have worried but it's that initial hesitation I'll have to get over if I'm going to go down the collector route. Maybe I'll just buy silver Trek/Wars memorabilia instead... less upside but less downside too.

Yep.  I have all the releases so far in both 1/4 gold and 1oz silver.

I'm a huge Star Wars/Trek fan too but I'm wondering: are you guys buying as collectors or is it an investment play? Bit of both? I'm trying to play safe with very conservative choices on the gold side so there's things I personally like but am wary of getting stuck with longer term, or not being able to add value beyond spot price moves. But I could be persuaded if veterans like yourselves have an investment case as well as a collector one.

    Any advice welcome. Thanks.
