That's a huge premium on those Britannias tbh. The coloured versions of the 1oz american eagle are usually much cheaper on ebay and I seem to remember seeing a couple on here last year for basically the same price as bullion. I did think of buying one for the novelty value a while ago.

No problem @DJames, this was my original listing for the 1/2 oz coins from back in September. No buyers first time round and gold had dipped so I decided to hold out and put the coins back in the drawer. I can sell for spot plus 2.5% including fully insured Special Delivery postage on any 1/2 oz coin.

I have a sealed 2021 half and a 2022 half where the seal is coming apart. Also have 1/4 oz brits.

How much are you offering for a 2021 half oz? I think I have one in the stack - if not I definitely have a 2022.

I don't see why most ordinary sellers on here wouldn't accept cash for coins, I guess it's a matter of personal circumstances. For professional dealers it may pose more of a problem. Cash can be sent fully insured by Royal Mail Special Delivery. I'm happy to accept cash or bank transfer.

Had a look through my stack and I have a few 1907 a 1911 and 1982. The 1982 looks polished, they are all just typical bullion half sovereigns. I'm not collecting dates so I'm happy to sell and I'll pick up some more. Happy to send to an intermediary - PM if interested.

HGM and Chards have a grade C class which is a class below the best value sovereign for scratched, ex jewellery, etc and that is usually a couple of pounds cheaper than the best value sovereigns. The original coin that HGM sent you looked more like a grade C. Good to hear they gave you a refund. I have used HGM best value quite a lot but if you don't like the more modern sovereigns then you will be better off buying from the forum so you know what you are getting. When he lists them, @Sh97if has some of the best bullion sovereigns on here and is very easy to deal with. They are around the same price as HGM and he has a wide range of dates.

@Scuzzle @sellerstacker yes that guy who was left with £29k of coins was the one I was thinking of. The youtube channel where the chap goes round trying to spend these coins in tesco, coop, petrol stations, etc is called "Julian Chamberlain" Sometimes it works and other times it doesn't. Sometimes the police are called out so it would be fun trying to spend these to say the least.

Unfortunately this probably won't work. I remember a story in the papers about a guy doing this at HSBC for a while some years ago. Buying from the mint using his HSBC card, getting cashback then paying them in at his local branch. Eventually they worked out what he was doing and refused him further service and he was left with a huge amount of coins. There is also a guy on youtube who goes around petrol stations, supermarkets etc using these coins. It has worked a couple of times but mostly not. That might be your best chance lol.

@DW1777 don't worry about it mate, your coins are priced fairly. No dealer is offering 1/10th for less than you. HGM/Tavex are both £185 including postage. If you struggle to sell them on here then try ebay. I sold a 1/10 brit for £189 delivered at the end of August before prices rose and it sold within a week. I should also perhaps add (or perhaps not) that it's a waste of your time to engage with certain people on the selling side of this forum (you will quickly understand which ones) and you certainly shouldn't have to explain your prices.

@AdamDutton Iranian items are blocked and removed on ebay so the seller would have to think of some imaginative keywords to try and get around it.
