  1. I had an interesting call today - TRM Account Manager offered to reserve some product for me, including a strike on the day. Has anyone else had similar offers?
  2. Like I said - pinch of salt. I don't think they really know what's going on half of the time.
  3. Just gave TRM a call. Apparently those restocks aren't a mistake & are genuine 🤔 Perhaps product that has been returned? Then again, I'd take that with a pinch of salt. I'd say they're more likely to take your money and hold onto it for a few weeks before issuing a refund.
  4. I definitely think this will be a long-term investment and the same with the Coronation coins. People just don't have the money right now, in general, to be dropping thousands on sets - especially with how much 'out of schedule' product the Royal Mint has released in the past 6 months.
  5. Ah, gotcha. Thought I was missing something! Cheers 🙂
  6. Monday as in next week (17th) or the 24th with the rest of the collection?
  7. I struggle to see a world where this won't be a queue+quick sellout situation. Only way to know for sure though is to ask again on the 25th!
  8. Ah, yeah - that's true. I forgot that they're doing three separate collection releases for one bloody event. Nice one!
  9. As I mentioned in another comment - the tables they did provide weren't even meant to be there as they were removed after. I wouldn't read too much into why the strike on the day was missing from it, as it was obviously just a mistake all around. Scratch that, maybe there is a method to their madness. See Paul's comment below.
  10. I'm guessing someone has had a bad day today... or will have one tomorrow! £5 Commemorative Coin: 50p Commemorative Coin: Gold Proof Ounces Coin: Silver Proof Ounces Coin:
  11. To be fair, I don't think it was meant to be there as it has since been removed.
  12. I think the portrait looks alright, but it does look like they've just slapped a vectored image over the top of the existing portrait (because they have) In terms of the pricing, here: (Source: https://www.royalmint.com/aboutus/press-centre/royal-mint-reveal-celebratory-coronation-range-ahead-of-the-coronation-on-6-may/)
  13. Agreed. I'm sure there is a reason for it, but it feels like a bit of an oversight to release it before people have their paychecks.
  14. I'll be trying to pick up one of the full ounce golds as I think the design is great and is far better than the crown. Probably one of the inevitable sovereign sets too at a later date. Got to have a strike of the day as well. I'm glad I held off from making any new purchases for a few months.
  15. Considering the phrasing, the strike on the day sovereigns will have the crowned portrait as they say they're part of the Coronation Collection. Not only that but also the following quote makes me think that all of the coronation sovereigns will be using the crowned portrait, as they're surely part of the Coronation Collection:
  16. It's going to be mayhem for my wallet as well by the looks of things. I wish they'd be a lot more specific about what sets they intend on releasing, if any.
  17. In the RM's defence, I've now exchanged three different orders in the past month and have had all sets back within a week. That's not so much the issue for me, it's the fact that when something does slip through whatever quality control the dealers has, I tend to just prefer dealing directly with the mint. I may be wrong about that, but it's just what I've always done, and it's an expensive mistake to make if a dealer doesn't agree with why something needs exchanging.
  18. I've had 3 sets now and have also only had issues with full & half sovereigns. I think the third set is pretty much all good except for a small frosting issue on the half sovereign. You highlighted the reason why I prefer to go straight through the Royal Mint when purchasing proofs. The odds are that there will be issues, and I'd rather just cut the middle-man when managing exchanges.
  19. Check out the employer reviews on Glassdoor as well - seems like quite a lot of fun, and you get to use some VERY cutting-edge software.
  20. Just received another replacement set. Does anyone know what this might be? Any suggestions for how to verify if it's something on the coin, as I'm hoping it's just a hair from a brush or something of the sort? Air duster? Edit: Gave it a quick burst with the duster and it disappeared. I guess it was just a tiny hair on the coin. Coins look good at first glance - no frosting gaps like the other two I've had!
  21. Very nice! Out of curiosity, where did you purchase your tubes & that rowed box? I have tubes like that but always feel like I'm overpaying. As for the rowed box, I'm still looking for a candidate to store blister packs and that looks like it might do the trick.
  22. I'm aware that the grading companies don't reduce the grade for frosting issues - but honestly, the Royal Mint was taking the piss with the second set they sent to me. I'm unsure how it passed their inspection, even if they inspect it with just the naked eye. It was absolutely littered with black dots to the point where it would become unappealing to any potential future buyer. Thanks for the wishes - third time lucky! 🤞
