  1. I received a replacement for the set that I returned further back in the thread due to frosting issues. Surprise, surprise, the set they swapped it out for had even more frosting issues. With the premiums we pay on these coins - I don't think it's too much to ask for coins that aren't littered with missing frosting. The plan is to just keep getting this set exchanged until they send me one that isn't full of issues, or run out of substitute stock and just refund me. After any coronation proofs I buy, I think I'll be back on a strict diet of best-value bullion.
  2. At this rate, expect the call in about a month 🙃
  3. Funnily enough, I also had a wonky quarter sovereign that I had to adjust. Whoever it was putting those in that day obviously had too much to drink the night before as mine was #555.
  4. I'm sure that is generally correct - it makes sense - but have just never noticed it before. In this case I guess I'm just blind. Perhaps I'm just paying more attention to what boxes they display now on the products after they skimped out on the box for the three coin memorial sovereign set.
  5. Britannia looks like she's been doing coke every day for the past 15 years. Where is her nose? Also, perhaps I have been completely oblivious to this in the past, but... Why is a 1oz gold version not sold individually? Why does it not clearly state coin sizes in the sets? Between that and the surprise launch, they couldn't have made this any less appealing. What a shame! I guess I'll just keep saving for coronation sets 🙃

    RM blister packs

Cheapest place I could find them was on gold.co.uk (https://www.gold.co.uk/accessories/coin-tubes/empty-box-PAMP-Suisse-bars/). Unsure what ordering from that site is like as I have never ordered from there before, but it has to be better than eBay.

    RM blister packs

All good! I think I'll be getting a PAMP box as well for my blistered sovs & Britannias (coins). The only downside of blister packs is that there is little option for storage, unlike the variety of capsules and tubes for coins. I can't say I've seen many blistered bars before so am assuming that all bar blisters are the same size, like they are for coins. The only reason I even have 1g bars in blisters is to give as Birthday presents to any family/close friends who ever show an interest in PMs 😁

    RM blister packs

Just tried a sovereign with a 1g gold bar (both in blister packs), and they are both the same size 🙂
  9. Not to make it a competition of 'who can experience the worst Royal Mint service', but I only just received my 'Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II' proof that I ordered in October last week... (with issues & was returned, of course) If you expect the worst, they can only do better!
  10. I'm definitely sending mine back - spent more time looking them over today than I did initially and found quite obvious issues on all 3 coins. Between the issues with the coins and the second-rate packaging, I'm not surprised but just disappointed.

    Blister Storage

40 cards is perhaps a bit too much - looking for around 5-25 so I can break it up between locations without taking up too much space for excess. Yep, that's the same one as what I linked in my post. I found a post on Reddit that had a side-by-side of a RM blister & PAMP and they appear to be the same size, so believe this would be suitable. Is there any way for us plebs to get our hands on these? Unable to find them resold anywhere.

    Blister Storage

Hi! I was wondering if anyone has any useful tips for neatly storing Royal Mint blister packs rather than just keeping them loose. I have looked at purchasing a used PAMP box, but unsure if the dimensions are correct. A secondary question is how does the Royal Mint actually send blister packs to dealers? Do they have their own blister boxes that nobody sells separately? Thanks.
  13. Mine arrived today as well. Everything was in order until I looked at the half-sovereign & immediately saw frosting issues. Didn't even need a loupe to see one or two of them (especially the one on KC's neck). Circled the obvious ones but there are plenty more. Like clockwork!
  14. I have received an email in the last hour alerting me that my three coin set is now on it's way! 👀
  15. The Royal Mint has been saying sometime between mid-to-late March for a few weeks now in fairness. Still an agonizingly long wait - especially when I know with my luck that it'll have to be exchanged due to issues found upon delivery.
