Hello everyone I'm a Kiwi and have been stacking/collecting since March 2022. As a kid, back when America's first Catholic president was bonking Marylin Monroe, my brother and I did collect stamps and coins but it wasn't a big thing. I have a basic stack of about 400 oz Ag and 6 oz Au. On top of that I have slabbed American Silver Eagles and Morgan dollars, plus an assortment of high value gold and silver Items. There are many tempting sets of coins, but aesthetic appreciation of this artform is high on my agenda which means that rather than completing a set I may buy only a few from a set. I'll likely never have to sell, but I'm not above selling to buy another coin. I also buy with consideration for continued collector interest in 10-20+ years, for my heirs. I don't have a LCS, so all of my purchases have been online and I know that, subsequently, I'm overpaying for nearly everything. It's a real challenge finding coins at the right price. I've missed some only because the seller won't ship overseas, or the US Mint (while accepting international orders) which doesn't accept my postal code/zip number and therefore the transaction won't complete. Also the added premium of p&p charges has an effect on my choices. Still, I soldier on knowing that to my heirs, the original cost of any item is totally irrelevant. And lastly, friends.......................................life happens.
