  1. 2024 Perth Mint 5oz Lunar Dragon This arrived direct from the land down under. Appears to be absolutely spotless - tempted to grade it. I now have 5, 2, 1, and 1/2 ounce dragons. Might have to do a family portrait some time.
  2. Missed an opportunity to get a Dalton film in there. 1990's has to be Brosnan. So maybe the tank from Goldeneye or the motorbike from Tomorrow Never Dies. Please not the invisible Vanquish from Die Another Day for the 00's.
  3. It was the DB5. But then they did Wet Nelly on the 2020 coin and the recent 1970s coin. My guess is either Aston Martin boycotted it (if they could), or it was too complex a design to replicate. 🤷‍♂️
  4. Royal Mint - Bond Films of the 1980s Not sure I'd have picked Octopussy as the film to highlight that decade. Thought they'd have chosen the Vantage V8 from Living Daylights. Oh well.
  5. People keep knocking the 'investment' worth of these coins. Might put me off. 😪 I don't buy them to sell them. That probably makes me a freak around here.
  6. 2023 Royal Mint - Six Decades of 007 - Bond Films of The 1970s - 1/4oz Gold Proof The second of the series and my personal favourite Bond film, The Spy Who Loved Me.
  7. I like to have the odd historical curiosity in the collection, a shipwreck coin here, a Pyx coin there. But I like pretties and shinies more, so I can photograph them. 😊 Let's just say that the Met Police forensic team would not struggle to find the culprit.
  8. 2021 Trial of the Pyx - 2020 Pay Attention 007 - 1/4oz Gold Proof My first Pyx coin. Not the most photogenic thing, but a little bit of history.
  9. Dust is just a fact of life. Especially when taking macro shots, it always looks like you have been through a gravel trap. An air duster helps slightly, but don't expect it to clean a layer of dust, just the odd spec. I personally do not recommend cotton gloves. They are too thick and slippery for handling coins, and also just add more dust. Get a box of nitrile gloves - gives you a much better grip handling tiny metal things gently.
  10. 2024 RAM 1oz Silver Koala Thanks @theman73 for this and the 1oz Dragon (which looks identical to the 2oz).
  11. Hi All I have created a thread in the Photography section of the forum, where you can ask specific questions about photographs you have taken and how to improve them. I hope it is useful. It may also help to keep this thread a bit clearer for all the lovely photos of people's acquisitions. Cheers.
  12. I am creating this thread to invite TSF members to ask for advice on their precious metal photos. If you would like help to improve your photographs, this is the thread for you. I will do my best to provide ideas. Typically advice may include: Settings on the camera. Techniques. Postprocessing on a tablet or computer. Equipment that will help to get to the next level. I am doing this for free, out of my own time. Please respect that. I have no intention of making any money out of this, either directly or via affiliate links, etc. If you want more detailed coaching or postprocessing of images, we can work something out. Here are some 'rules': 1. Please include at least one photograph that you have taken. 2. Please describe the circumstances of the photograph, i.e. Camera / phone. Any settings other than the default. If you know things like exposure settings, that would be very useful. Handheld or tripod. Lighting. Anything else useful. 2a. Optionally, it might be useful to describe your photography experience level. This will help me to pitch my answer and provide useful information without wasting your time. 3. Ask specific question about what you would like to improve, or what you are trying to achieve. 4. Feel free to comment (courteously) on other people's posts. I am certainly not the only photographer on here that could contribute. 5. Please otherwise keep this thread clear of other comments. Unless you are submitting photos for improvement, or commenting on someone else's photo on this thread, comment somewhere else. Finally, I have no intention of shaming or ridiculing people's photography. Everyone is at a different level of skill, available equipment and time, and I respect that. I ask that everyone else does likewise.
  13. 2023 Germania Mint 1oz Silver BU - Witchcraft Seeress Last of this batch, and the only one that isn't round. Nice mixture of textures.
  14. They have a crazy amount of detail for a 'bullion' coin. Technically "BU High Relief". Amazing bang for the buck.
  15. Thank you. You should not be ashamed. Your pictures are excellent, and show off your amazing collection.
  16. Good grief. I was close to pulling the trigger there. Well done for putting us out of our misery.
  17. I've seen a lot worse. Usually on eBay. At least it's gold.... and round.
  18. 2023 Perth Mint 1oz Silver Kookaburra Finally have last year's kook. Looking forward to getting the 2024 soon. I have all of them, so I should do a collection photo soon.
  19. Sounds like Marsh missed off the last digit. Probably meant to be 1130'ish. Or they just got it totally wrong. Who knows. Considering I am only a very casual sovereign collector and relative noob, I think that's the third very obvious error I have found in Marsh in the last year. Disappointing.
  20. Hold my coat... 🤣 I generally put the coins upright on small plastic display stands, which I have modified to remove the front of the feet, so they don't obscure the bottom of the coin (much). That way I can arrange the coin, camera and lights as I want. I also photoshop the stand out of the background, so it doesn't distract.
  21. 2023 - King Charles III 75th Birthday - SotD Sovereign
