Another newbie here to make an introduction.
I've been collecting silver for around a year now, initially because I thought it would be a good long-term investment. However once I'd got my first few ounces, the lure of the shiny was too difficult to overcome, so nowadays I keep buying silver purely because I enjoy feeling like a medieval king with a chest full of treasure . I'm a big history fan, so I was collecting Roman coins before I got started on the silver bullion. My current favourite antique coin that I own is a Roman Dupondius from around 27BC (sadly, it's only made of brass...)
I've also recently added a shiny new half-sovereign to the collection - the first bit of gold I've ever bought. Will definitely be adding more at some point in the near future, along with more silver coins that have interesting or beautiful designs.

As the title says, I just realised I'm gonna have to re-mortgage the house if I keep buying PMs at this rate. Started off with getting a little stack together and now I'm obsessed with making it bigger 😋.

The current GSR has me focused on Silver.  I have added a little over 100x silver vs gold (in ounces, not cost).  But I am stacking in anticipation of the $30 trillion debt in the US (and other things not appropriate to discuss here!) destroying what is left of the dollar.  So more like insurance/hedge vs classical investment.
I can see how if your storage is very limited, you might want to go with gold. But I have to believe silver has greater % potential right now.  It seems severely under-valued in a world where most everything has gone up big time.
