  1. Has anyone had the 3 box set yet ..
  2. They look stunning...Great pictures..
  3. My 2 sets came today..The 2 pound sovereign looks amazing..
  4. Yes probably a double would get away with it but not sure ...But for that price would sooner buy the proof sovereign my friend
  5. I'm unsure about these Memorial Bullion Sovereigns...got a feeling that they are all going to look too much on the reverse..Think they are going to be like the 2012 Diamond Jubilee Sovereign..The proof was good...But the Bullion was terrible
  6. I've got 2 4 coin sets coming tomorrow...one for me and I'm giving the other set to my granddaughter should be a nice little nest egg for her .. Hopefully the 3 coin set will be next
  7. I wont be buying any ...And dont think I will be buying anything else from Royal Mint in the near future after their kerfuffle over the Memorial sovereigns..still waiting for most of my orders...The Coronation sovereign is going to have to be something really special to tempt me to part with any of my money to them .. Its starting to get a joke how much they are pushing their prices up and the amount of time you have to wait for their product to arrive to only to find the Q/C on some of their products are goose ...The Jubilee and The Memorial sovereigns will do me for the time being... Back to Bullion for me..
  8. I picked 10 Gillicks up last September for a decent price..Had chance to buy more but wanted to save a bit of money as I knew that The Memorial Sovereigns were coming out in November and wanted to make sure I had the funds to get what I wanted when they came out 8 1968 and 2 1966 Gillicks
  9. True.. But if your new to collecting it's a good way to compare..The look ,feel and then the tests and just to compare it with a real sovereign.. Sadly some of these are being used in sovereign rings now and can be much harder to distinguish for people who dont know what they are looking for most would probably just go on the weight of the ring say 6 gram for the ring mount and 7.9 gram for the sovereign.. this is only 0.7 gram off a real sovereign it being 7.3 grams so can be hard to judge on the weight of the full ring
  10. I have this fake sovereign that I keep just to compare with genuine sovereigns..Give you a good idea of what to look for its slightly thicker than a genuine sovereign passes on the magnet test ..but the ping test is completely different to a genuine sovereign..and finally how much it weighs gives it away Sadly some of these are put into rings and can be much harder to distinguish
  11. Thanks about the coin ..it was the first coin I bought when I was 16 ..bought it at the time for 20p and it got me hooked on old siver coins then onto gold coins Going back to the subject I agree with you that Royal Mint wouldn't have to worry about buying gold bars ..but if they knew gold was going to go up roughly £100 by January when they started production on the Memorial sovereigns..they would not want to take any hit on gold going up ..just my thoughts on why it was £100 more than the Jubilee sovereign
  12. I thought this during November when The 2022 Memorial Sovereign was first released..it was £100 more than the 2022 Jubilee Sovereign.. At the time of the release of the Memorial sovereign gold prices were at roughly £1470 per ounce...today it's at £1560.. I can see it making the 1570 - 1580 mark very soon .. What's your thoughts on this ..
  13. Same here got an email saying one of the sovereigns I ordered on a separate order will be here tomorrow ( Friday 6th ) ... but nothing on the bigger orders as of yet
  14. £1511 by the end of this year and £1597 by the end of next year ..
  15. I'm going to keep the Memorial sovereigns I have bought.. the reason is two things 1.. It's the first sovereign with a new monarch on it in 70 years and this design is absolutely stunning.. 2 They will all go with the 2022 Platinum Jubilee sets and sovereigns and make a nice pair ...I'm sure these sets will only increase in value...So I'm not really worried if people dont buy them or cancel their orders.. I do hope that Royal Mint stick to their word and you cannot purchase anymore after 31st December..But not holding my breath lol
  16. That's good roll on 31st December 🤑
  17. I was going to buy 1 full sovereign and the 4 box set... Ended up with 2 × 4 box set 1 × 3 box set 2 × full sovereigns 1× half sovereign Tempted for the 5 box ...but wife will go mad lol
  18. Im going to keep mine got 2 sovereigns and the 3 box set to go with the 2022 Elizabeth ones I've got plus the 4 box set ..so happy with that
  19. Still think the 4 box set will be a winner if nothing else
  20. Just got the 4 set ..sill up on Royal Mint
  21. Got the 4 coin set ..went to the checkout and surprise surprise had trouble with the payment on my credit card..the 4 coin set was then took off .. So ended up with the 3 coin set , sovereign and half a sovereign
