  1. Hi guys, just come across a Facebook post offering the Gothic Crown for £425 (I'm sure some of you have seen the same post) Is the arse falling out of this coin re-sale wise or do you think It will pick back up over the coming years? Bought mine for £600 on the secondary market which I was happy with (and still am mind) but was just a bit surprised to see one this cheap. Any thoughts welcome. Thank you all.
  2. ☝this exactly Money is money, 1p, £1 or £1000
  3. Why would you be "messing around with Bleyer with refunds?"
  4. I'm very new to all this and definitely no expert, so at the risk of showing my ignorance I'm going to comment on this subject. I'll use the example of the 500g Baird & Co cast silver bar which I ordered yesterday and am planning on holding for the long term, 15+ years. As long as the price of silver goes up enough during those years (not guaranteed I know) and I sell privately at just under the dealers price (market value) at that time, then I should make some money surely? It's just a gamble.
  5. Exactly what I said to the Mrs when she started playing up!!
  6. Just ordered one of these, seems to have gone through ok, hell of a price. I really need to stop logging onto this forum for a while. Everytime I do I seem to end up a few hundred quid down! lol. Really not joking either 🙈
  7. Oh dear, here we go again! When these became available again at RM I couldn't resist getting another one 🙈
  8. How much would a Silver Eagle cost to buy over in the States? (in GBP)
  9. I've only been at this myself a couple of months. Originally started off with the intention of stacking gold and silver at the cheapest possible price as an investment for the future. Well, it hasn't taken long for me to be seduced by the, as you say, "pretty, collectable stuff" lol. Spent far too much money on some of these items when I could have got more for my money buying best value type items. Oh well not to worry, she hasn't left me..........Yet! lol
  10. How can you tell how many are left?
  11. She won't realise until YET ANOTHER small brown box comes through the post, at which point I'll point her in your direction if you don't mind! Lol 🤣🤣
  12. Oh well f$#k it! I've ordered another full sov. My Mrs will go spare if she finds out!! 🙈
  13. Maybe these "extra" coins are all the ones that got sent back!! Lol
  14. So does this mean that they didn't mint the full run of coins first time around, 10,500 of full sovereigns for example?
  15. A nice half sov (bought off Facebook) to go with my full and 2 queen silver coins. Thanks to @SilverLoaf for those.
  16. I think Santa's bringing me one of these tomorrow! lol MERRY CHRISTMAS!
  17. Thanks for all the feedback everyone. Apparently they had 30 sovereigns in the shop the day before and someone came in and bought the lot! All they had left were 4 half's, of which this was one. I'll see if I can get them to knock it down a touch and add it to the stack. 👍 MERRY CHRISTMAS!
  18. Hi all, I came across one of these for sale today in a local coin/antique shop for £175. Would you lovely people say that's a good, bad or about right price? Seemed good to me but I'm no expert lol TIA
  19. Hi, thanks for responding, but I was wondering if a company like NGC use a x5 mag for grading purposes, isn't a x40 mag going to give you a slighty false idea of your coins grading potential. If you inspect any coin with a high enough magnification then surely you'd find issues with every coin ever minted? TIA
