  1. I'm curious to know what everyone's premium limit is when buying gold and silver but more so silver. I have watched a lot of youtube with the likes of backyard bullion and yankie stacking and premiums get brought up all the time. However Yankie mentioned in one of his videos he only buys silver that is below 20% premium. Well here in the UK if you were to buy from a retailer that is VAT registered such as Atkinsons Bullion you are already paying 20% due to VAT. So technically here in the UK the spot price is always going to be 20% higher than it should be as even second hand sellers will still add 20% onto their prices since if you were to look else where you will be paying that in VAT. So when buying off of TSF if the spot price was £19 and someone was selling 1oz of 999 fine Silver for £23.75 would you guys look at it as a 25% premium or a 5% premium?? Obviously Gold doesn't have this issue but I am still curious of what percentage of premium you are willing to pay over spot.

Correlation? Yes and no. If buying new silver there is the 20% VAT to take in to account, so it won't work out at 88/1 price wise

Yeah thats the only kicker with silver is the VAT. Would be good if they had made silver VAT exempt like they did gold back in 2000. Even though I would not even be alive back then so never experienced gold with VAT haha.

  3. What is peoples thoughts on the gold to silver ratio? I am relatively new to stacking as I started in 2021. Some people swear by the gold to silver ratio and others say there is no correlation.

However with the current increase in Gold the ratio is 88. Which I believe is relatively high with the highest its every gone being 111 in 2020. Do you think gold will come down in price to lower this ratio or silver to go up in price? Or is the gold to silver ratio not a true comparison of the materials?

  4. Hi everyone,

I have been on the fence about collecting precious metals as I was unsure where to start and buy from. However after watching many of backyard bullions videos I have decided to make the leap. I hope I can bring some positivity and good business to this forum as well as just have general talks about precious metals. I have recently bought my first coin of which is a 2021 panda and it just looks stunning. I will be looking to collect some coins as pure art and also have a nice stack as a long term investment. Saying that there is something that just seems so exciting about collecting all these different types of bullion out there it almost seems endless. I wish everyone the best and cant wait to be apart of this forum.
