  1. Haha, TIL! I think the Royal Mint part of the US Mint press release confused me when they said it was a shared reverse design. Even so, there's no reason why it couldn't have said Britannia too. I am going to put my balls on the line and say that the Royal Mint design coin is the better one. *hides*
  2. I'm talking about the reverse, not the obverse. They can and do also include other words on that side.
  3. And yet the reverse has a picture of both liberty and britannia on it. It still seems weird to mention one but not the other on the reverse. Maybe they think it will sell better in the US if it only mentions liberty? I prefer the RM version - it's not afraid to say what it is (and what it's made of!).
  4. If that happens, I can imagine the RM versions becoming quite sought after!
  5. My first thoughts are that serious collectors will want both coins (the US and the RM one). I wonder if they will make it convenient and include some two-coin sets amongst the options without having to import anything. Also, seems a bit weird that our coin says "Britannia and Liberty" on it whereas the US one carries the same design but only says "Liberty".

  8. Just confused about what the curveball was if everyone was expecting it to be 999 gold anyway!
  9. Sharps Pixley are cheaper still. Currently £397.93 vs £399.13.
  10. Any more rubbish graded coins floating about? Old predecimal stuff also ticks my boxes.
  11. They were minted by Shanghai New Century Medals Corporation.
  12. The 2022 sixpence was more expensive than this one.
  13. A new design! https://www.royalmint.com/gifts/sixpence/2024-wedding-silver-sixpence/ https://www.royalmint.com/gifts/sixpence/2024-wedding-gold-sixpence/
  14. And now to the rrp (672.50) so it was a double mistake!
  15. The BU Team GB 50p looks proper ugly compared with the proofs.
  16. All available on the RM site now. Back to the classic design most of us were expecting. Which is good I think? But who will want to buy any of these "normal" 2024 sovereigns after the past couple of years?! 🤣
  17. Already live on RM https://www.royalmint.com/invest/bullion/bullion-coins/gold-coins/the-sovereign-2024-gold-bullion-coin/ Back to the classic design, yay.
  18. The BU annual sets (full, and definitives only) and the premium proof sets are supposed to be purchasable from the RME tomorrow, so early delivery of those looks promising.
  19. The 2024 bullion sovereigns are coming out tomorrow morning.
