I collected my coin from the local post depot. It had two dents in the reverse face!?! Where did they occur from? It's like the mint only check a handful of proofs per hundred or something with their ongoing releases. Did anyone else have problems with their coins? Now I get why so many people have their coins graded now. I consider this a must have so sent it back for a replacement. It was numbered in the high two thousands.

Anyone know when the 2022 Britannia silver proof is announced and who the artist is?

I did not see the point in spending £20 on nickel and do not consider piedforts at all. Went for the 925 silver proof. Does anyone know why it was £10 more expensive than the John Logie Baird silver proof 50p?

I have this in silver proof and is easily the most spectacular coin I have seen😁. I also have this very same fault on the 2021 Britannia silver proof, an irritation but it could be worse, at least it's not on the coin face.😊

There is a Team GB 50p coin 'coming soon' from the Royal Mint, they haven't displayed the coin on their Instagram account yet. May get it in silver proof if that's available provided it looks sensational😊

I obtained a 1900, Bombay minted, British silver trade dollar with COA from Baldwin's on the Strand yesterday. £150. They have at least four left. I would consider this scrap, the silver content is only ninety? percent and the coin is weathered. I wanted it for this reason, the circulated authenticity and historical concept. I am only a new collector and only collect as a hobby. I do believe the price of silver will escalate and see it's speculative financial value independent of gold. If I only bought silver to resell it then I would think anything less than pure silver would not cut it.

This thread will give people advance warning of when a coin is upcoming and decide if they actually want it rather than being paralysed with getting caught on the hop. I started collecting since February and only treat coin collecting as an extra hobby otherwise the fun is not there. I collect the silver proofs and am quite picky, I favour the beautiful, spectacular coins. Oh! The new UEFA EURO 2020 24 carat gold proof coin is advertised in today's Metro, page 23, if anybody is interested.
