  1. Nah. There's only a subscription for the Tudor Beasts because they know they'll struggle to sell them. I'm sure they'll have no such problems with these
  2. So these arrived today, the 2012 5 coin set all PF70 grade. Never really thought I’d be interested in full sets until I got the 2022 but now I think I’ve got the bug! The 5 coin is most definitely a sight to behold. This is most definitely a long term hold. Would love to get an original box just to have with it. Would also love to get a full set in the 2016 sovereign as well
  3. Thanks. There's not much on it at all. I believe they are medals which were primarily created to celebrate the 3 year anniversary of the National Redemption Council which was the military government in place at the time. Like stamps, coins were also used to communicate to the population so they used the opportunity to bring awareness around the initiative Operation Feed Yourself in which its aim was to encourage growth in agriculture across the various regions. I only discovered they existed on this website here which has acted as a guide for the coins I should be on the look out for (from 1958 - 1977 only) and is the only coin that hasn't got mintage figures. Not sure how the coins were distributed but there is was a standard copper nickel one produced (still quite rare, there was one on eBay in America but they wouldn't send it to the UK and its sold now ☹️) so I assume that the gold and silver ones were given high profile dignitaries or something. Yeah, I've seen that site you sent and you could be right, the gold is most definitely the same one! The silver one isn't but looking at the markings I think I've actually found it here. Do you collect these types of coins?
  4. Another couple of coins to add to my Ghana collection. Just 2 more left. Great condition. Loads of history of military coups, government initiatives and monarchies told through the coin design. Very rare and ever been graded by NGC so I’ll be sending them off to be preserved 😊
  5. Not sure if this has been confirmed but looks like the bullion will have the coat of arms design https://www.physicalgold.com/2022-gold-sovereign-coin?utm_source=Flowbird&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Flowbird+campaign+93800&ad_rid=588803642&ad_caid=93800&ad_wid=543843&ad_chid=588770497&ad_sid=2026437439
  6. Slowly ticking these off the off my list. The 20th Anniversary of Ghanaian Independence gold commemorative coin. Though produced by the royal mint historic Ghanaian coins are hard to find. They pop up in auctions around Europe from time to time do when I see them I grab them. Have a couple arriving next week then I’ll just have 2 outstanding. Off to NGC this goes to be preserved
  7. And then there were 5. The quintuple is a stunner, the pic doesn’t do it justice. Will get these graded and into my long term collection. I have a few Ghanaian coins on the way from a couple of auctions but apart from that its pencils down for gold for a while (well, until the SOTD 😏)
  8. I thought this but the royal mint stated that the only way to get the 5 sov is via the 5 coin set (screenshot attached) so I think as its a special year the additional will be gifted to key royal dignitaries, diplomats, commonwealth countries, presidents that fly in etc around the jubilee celebrations. With full sov being more plentiful they will be gifted more widely whereas the 100 5 coin sets will be reserved for the more "important" folk (and 10 of each for Trial of the Pyx of course 😊) .
  9. I’m sure there will be a few of these posts today but this honestly incredible up close. Better than the 02, 05 and 12 in my opinion. It rivals the 89 and 17 designs. Credit where credit is due, bravo Timothy Noad and the Royal Mint
  10. They left the 2017 out of this image for some reason
  11. Good luck to everyone for tomorrow. Been following this thread and thought it could be a good time to ask a question that's always been on my mind. Apart from the 3 graces release which I must admit I bought for the sole purpose of selling on (as I'm sure a lot of us would admit did also) I wouldn't consider myself a flipper in the general consensus of the perceived definition. I'm sure like others if I decide to sell something I've bought I'd like to sell it for more than I paid and certainly don't want to lose money if that can be helped. I also sometimes buy coins to enjoy for a period of time but also have an inkling that I may sell down the road So here in lies my question. I completely understand the distain towards the evilBay/fleeBay seller asking for exuberant prices way beyond the 16% eBay commission they fall back on to justify a 500% above retail price, but why are individual sellers of coins soon after release (also known as flippers) vilified but precious metal dealers who will do the same are not held to the same standard? I am sure there will be some online dealers selling sets above the Royal Mint prices just like some individuals will on this forum, Facebook groups and in auctions hoping to achieve top dollar. I am by no means saying that dealers should also be vilified, I'm more asking if the general consensus is its ok for dealers to add a premium to the retail price shortly after release, why is it not ok for individuals to do the same (within reason of course)? Would be interesting to hear peoples point of views 😊
  12. Nice congrats! I managed to snag 2 from a shop in London. Its just the infamous 2006 that eludes me from my vintage date rumn 😏. Prices are still a bit crazy for me on that one
  13. Here's my portfolio. Doesn't include cash saved for property. Plan to sell some of my company shares to add to my property purchase next year
  14. Ah right ok. Was just thinking with the different ways you can access equity eg downsizing, remortgaging or selling you could consider those funds as an investment but that of course depends on your plans. If you plan to keep it in the family forever then that’s absolutely fine
  15. Makes sense. Do you not class any equity in your current home as part of your portfolio?
  16. Nice! Are you planning for your offshore mutual funds to act as your pension? Also do you use your ISA?
  17. When you say investing in property, do you mean a place to live of a place to rent?
  18. Hi All, Thought it would be cool to create a thread where people can share parts or all of their asset portfolios so they can receive opinions (not of the financial advice nature) in the hope that people can have a diverse POV/view from different people across the country and the world should they wish. Also get to learn from other peoples allocations and strategies. Asset portfolios can consist of the follow (not exhaustive) list: - Stocks - Bonds - Funds (ETF’s, Index, Mutual) - Real Estate - Precious metals (of course!) - Commodities - Cryptocurrencies - Collectibles (whiskey, rum, art, classic cars, watches, Pokemon cards etc) - Cash Investment vehicles/wrappers can consist of the following (not exhaustive) list: - SIPPs - Workplace Pensions - ISA’s - GIAs - Trusts - SEIS’s - Offshore Bonds Will post mine in the coming days to get everyone's opinion. Putting everything together in a pie chart. Happy rating!
  19. Nice! I haven’t seen the Alien coin with the gold colouration
  20. Another one ticked off the Ghana coins list. Looking for the gold version as well. If anyone has one on the off chance sitting in their collection and wants to offload, give me a shout 😊
