  1. You mean this channel I recommend above? 😂😂😂 Yeah this is a great video of a Foursquare ECS range. Surprised there isn't more comprehensive videos like this on YouTube
  2. I'd say Havana Club, Appleton, Mount Gay and Foursquare are legit. Still not sure on Plantation and Dictador long term but thats just me. Have you checked out rumauctioneer.com? You can look at the prices these rums are going for and look at past auctions to see what they have gone for in the past. Gives you a good idea of what distilleries are doing well but also what specific bottles are appreciating. Completely depends on your budget but Caroni for investment purposes is my bet. Rare Whiskey 101 tracks the index's of the best whiskey distilleries in the world on how they are doing investment wise (https://www.rarewhisky101.com/indices) and Caroni is the only rum distillery they track...! https://www.rarewhisky101.com/indices/distillery-specific-indices/caroni-rum-index
  3. So nice I had to buy it twice! Grabbed another one of these bad boys on the dip 😊
  4. He's right, hence why I'm staying away from the Dictadors of the world and why Foursquare is so popular investment wise. Their owner Richard Seale is big on transparency, ethics and not additives, he doesn't mince his words. I'm relatively new to this myself, only started collecting this year. Learnt a lot from rumauctioneer.com by looking at the brands and historical prices. There's also a good YouTube channel called New Rum Club. Its quite new but the guy that does it really knows his stuff about good credible rum https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJM5WyZaurOlxDNyBA5HoIA
  5. Welcome! Yeah not sure about Dictador. Seems overhyped. Short term gains but long term it won't be a thing. Havana Club is good but they release a lot and you have to know what your getting from an investment POV. Plantation have a bit of a bad rep so not really into it long term. I've kept it really simple and only investing in Foursquare, Velier and Caroni. Not cheap but the best rum investments long term in my opinion. Caroni in particular has bags of potential as its a distillery that was closed down a few years back. Velier have been releasing whats left over the last few years but once its gone its gone
  6. Thanks. I was sceptical of the additional line on some I’ve seen as well lol. I passed on a few because it was too ambitious. Lets just say I won’t be buying any PMs for a while unless I’m selling to buy 😩
  7. Jewel in the crown, the 1859 Ansell. Those who have heard the story know that its a pretty hard coin to get hold of and in good condition. Been after one of these for a long time (thank you @CadmiumGreen for the inspiration), finally picked one up. Lovely coin, centrepiece of my collection. It has a relatively old NGC label so will send it off to get it conserved and regraded as I think it could achieve a grade a little higher
  8. Took a while to arrive but upped my bullion stack and bought the dip 😊
  9. Took a while but received my crossed graded 1937 George VI sovereign, chuffed with the grade. Another step closer to completing one of my collection runs
  10. Received this little beauty back from grading in the post today. Torn between this and the completer as the best design but out of the original 10 this is most definitely my favourite. Goes nicely with the others in the collection 🙃
  11. Received the Giants of the Ice Age Rhino this morning, 5th coin in the series, 3 more left! Shout out to Martin @SilverTrader for this one
  12. Finally got my hands on the elusive 2017 30th Anniversary privy Britannia. Been looking for one for a while to complete my special reverse run 😊
  13. I tend to lean towards your thinking but Marsh and Spinks can't both be wrong can they? Maybe they just didn't end up minting all of them, 650 is just the limit. As its a strike on the day they could only mint them on that specific day. For example they only minted 350 with 13 being sent back. They could remint them so they could stay true to the strike on the date concept. Just a theory though
  14. Couldn’t resist this one. The 2018 Strike on the Day 65th anniversary of the Coronation. I was aware that this had a mintage limit of 650 but was pleasantly surprised when I checked the Marsh Sovereign Book which states only 323 were minted! Big thanks to @1stsovereign for this one. Will probably have this one graded
  15. No precious metals today but probably the best representation of why we stack/collect/invest in them. The One Hundred Trillion Zimbabwe Dollar note, 14 zeros, crazy. Think I’ll get 1 or both of these graded by PMG
  16. I didn't get a Redoubtable but I've tried a friends bottle. Have you tried it yet? If so what do you think?
  17. As suspected no rum sippers in here 😩😂. Whiskey is most definitely more favourable but there are some lovely rums which bourbon enthusiasts would love. I'll give it a year or two and revisit this post 😂
  18. Pick up from a few days ago. Only 575 of these minted. This and the 1989 are the only 2 years with a 1 off obverse design in Queen Elizabeth’s reign (so far 😏)
  19. There'll probably won't be much interest but thought I'd put it out there. I started a small rum collection made up of the vintage releases from Foursquares Exceptional Cask Series. I've noticed that it has really garnered a lot of interest of late and was wondering if anyone else collects Foursquare rum or any other rums. Whiskey is the daddy of the spirit world of course but rum seems to be gathering pace
  20. When working out the number of ounces I have in my stack I’ve always worked out the number of ounces in a kilo as 35.274. But I realised I maybe should be using troy ounces which is actually 32.150. Can anyone shed any light?
