  1. As an engineer I do like a good burr I can deburr. Get a wire rim variety (or as you stated a partial or full collar) when grading.
  2. And me I just bought 20 1/10th oz of these coins, how many come in a tube?
  3. Tell me about it, IKEA are cheap and their stuff falls apart but at least they supply one.
  4. Got to say the edge lettering doesn't look as bad as in the promo photos from the RM. Those photos didn't do it justice.
  5. I have just checked tracking, as of last night the coins are on route. I bought mine while there was about 200 coins left before the last coins were taken. Perhaps take the day off and stay by you door for your postman will be delivering very very soon. I have to wait a week or so due to customs checks and tariffs applied and a customary wait while this happens as mail goes like a snail in Germany. We should see the first pictures coming through from customers who bought from the mint.
  6. Didn't the first auction he put up for this coin that the seller ended have a higher finishing value. So he has cancelled and got less than the first time.
  7. I have just checked my Royal Mint account to see that my 2oz silver order has moved to closed orders since I got the first email yesterday saying they were getting ready for dispatch. Royal Mail tracking to Germany, DHL the rest of the way. Hopefully the one being graded is on its way to the dealer/grading submitter.
  8. I could have bought more, however instead of buying more 2024 GE coins I bought an 1820 which is being submitted for grading to go with the 2024 plus other coins so have to take into account the costs of grading along with 25 pokemon cards which I had submitted and the cost of return postage and possibly the German customs trying to rip me off and claim more money than they deserve.
  9. That's nothing compared to UPS. I paid for express service, their higher tier service from UK to Germany I had a package, then due to reasons unknown they decided to hold the package for several weeks. They claimed it was for customs reasons, yet for some reason I had other packages incoming from the USA also with UPS but with their standard tier service. So the Standard tier went straight through customs and the express tier was held up and put in storage which UPS then has tried to claim money for on top of the original fee plus the import duties and VAT. I still haven't paid UPS to this day for the fees they have tried to charge me, they can take a running jump off a very high point they feel they are positioned to a very much lower, more concrete reality for all I care, I will not pay and they can take me to court. Both packages were sent around similar times in November last year, the UK package (express tier) was sent first then while I waited for it in storage the package from the USA was dispatched and arrived within a couple of days from dispatch.
  10. I have 2 on order, one being graded directly from the dealer the other is coming straight from the mint ungraded. I'm a realist not an idealist
  11. So, who is ready for another Great Dissapointment Engravers full of milk spots, scratches tarnishing and many other quality related issues? Prepare for 95% to score a PF69 and the lucky few to get a PF70.
  12. I had seen on a grading returns video a while back regarding a US gold coin. Can't remember a denomination but it was pre 1933 gold. I would have to look for the video amongst many others on YT. But I remember the person saying it had been bought from the RM but had returned from ngc as not genuine.
  13. The problem is as well as the RM have also been caught selling fake coins through their historic coin program. Sure mistakes are made but it's as if they don't check the quality of items they sell. They over price, over grade a coin so the actual grade is lower than it technically is and its evident when you buy a coin, grade it and it comes back lower than what they claim it was and it also means the coin is worth less graded as what it sold for by them. Plus I have seen a few times where people have bought a historic coin and its come back from the graders as a fake coin. So if QC checks are lacking so are yhr authentication quality checks found to be lacking. It's like they don't out effort in. It's time for a complete reform of the company to provide the products and services to the level they claim they provide. For starters how they check a coins final condition before they package it, arms length is simply not good enough when for the same amount of time they can easily bring a coin closer to the face and check it. Arms length is not a good enough metric for quality when doing final checks on modern proof coins, it wouldn't take any longer changing this method so why keep it this way.
  14. I think the Gothic or a sovereign from 2022 had a similar waiting period I can't remember but I remember being one of the first to get it after a long ef'in wait.
  15. I'm not sure where is says this as I searched and saw no mention of it shipping when you state on their website with the link you provided.
  16. I saw someone reject an offer of £12k on ebay from a screenshot they post on a FB group page for a gold 2oz. So someone was willing to offer 12k for 2oz gold yet the seller wasn't sure if the offer was legitimate so refused it.
  17. Can you elaborate on "how I feel"? I'm not sure if I'm meant to give an emotional response or how I feel the market will be in this time. It's just speculation at the moment. 2019 una did well, will this coin do well in secondary market? Maybe but its going to take time. 2013 was the last time we got a silver proof pistrucci and there was a mintage of 10,000 and a pf70 can fetch decent money over RRP or a second hand raw or pf69. So it will do better than the 2013 coin for sure will it do better than una? I think it will do slightly better than 3 graces due to the mintage but only graded pf70 will see the highest premiums for silver, gold I don't know, but only time will tell. Don't expect most coins to do well considering due to mint QC is always lacking.
  18. No one really knows, if you can find one from a dealer at RRP then you will still have to wait for it to be delivered. Thing is, everyone who has bought one no matter the weight or be it gold or silver and has bought it from the mint or a dealer is yet to take ownership of it as non have been dispatched by the mint as they are taking their sweet time sending the coins to those who bought one. In the mean time a bunch of other coins have been released and people are taking delivery of these wierd looking cartoon coins. So the reality is we are in another dimension and nothing is real and you are just dreaming about the 2024 GE coin as it doesn't exist.
  19. From what I have now been told from a source by their AM, expect Great Engravers to be dispatched Mid March now for 2oz Silver.
  20. I just noticed that people are starting to receive their George Micheal coins already and not a single Great Engravers is yet to be dispatched or received. The mint is certainly messing with its customers.
  21. Just ordered one myself to go along with the 2023 royal cypher.
  22. Not yet for me, what about yourself. I was expecting to get something in the mail, maybe later in the week.
