Trading silver for Gold

I’ve never traded precious metals before and was wondering what would be an acceptable amount of silver to trade for a gold sovereign?

Very generally (because there are lots of factors such as which Sovs and which Silver coins).

I would say around 18 1oz Silver Coins for a bullion Sov.

16oz silver to a bog standard sov

Easy enough to pickup silver 1oz coins at £23 each right now. On that basis, I’d agree with Dicker at approx 18oz of coins for one standard sovereign

I'm going with 19 ozs of silver, reason being..I'm giving the sov at spot practically, so it's reasonable to expect the silver premium to be toned back a little to £22oz.

If I was swapping gold for silver, I would want 19, If I was swapping silver for gold, i would want to give 17, so as mention by @dicker from the start, it would have to be 18 to be fair to both sides.  For the record, I am not swapping gold for silver at this present moment, maybe when the ratio is 1-100.

I wasn't really looking for silver but if immaculate I could be persuaded to part with any of these Gillick sovs.

I’ve got some more silver on the way, but I was looking to trade ASE, Brits and Krugs all in great condition. When I’ve got all the silver I’ll send you pics and you can take your pick.
