Female Protagonist rounds? Types?

Recommended Posts

Im looking at coin designs and im trying to search for something, Like we have Britannia and the historic art there, and then the queens of england, on the reverse of most coins, but other than searching for germania rounds, is there more kinda artsy style human / myths / godesses / folklore legends, too many of them are animals and much of the mythical ones are quite dull IMO, like to me i get the perspective that its some soft novel from the amazon kindle store or something where as germania rounds give you an image that its telling you a story, they just hit different if you know what im saying?

Just kinda want some variance and most rounds dont really speak to me with all the animals and what not on but i do like the dragons and stuff, kinda think its cute if you find other rounds with different types of fish on or something like it were a little knowledge fact embedded onto the coin so you will probably never forget it and may well give you the slightest better chance of winning a pub quiz or something.

A US dealer/mint has some great artistic 2oz rounds (especially the succubus series). However, not sure of the import duties costs etc. Maybe someone who had dealt with these previously could help.

Dont thnk they have a full set of the succubus, but anyway, you will pay quite a bit in shipping, a small conversion rate into USD to make payment, something like £12.00 fees for this side from FEDEX and of course VAT

It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop.

There's the Durga from Le Grand Mint - you can get the 2023 and 2034 from Silvertrader.. Just looking through they also have KOMSCO's Princess Bari, EOS goddess and the horses. RM also have Maid Marian and Morgan Le Fay, and EIC have a different Una and the Lion design each year.

There is also a fair bit of manga themed stuff if you care to look further afield, such as this (base metal and probably unlicensed) Ghibli stuff from some enterprising vendor on Aliexpress - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005814344871.html

The Sovereign is the quintessentially British coin.  It has a German queen on the front, an Italian waiter on the back, and half of them were made in Australia.

I'm also a fan of Zombucks - https://britannia-uk.com/zombucks and Molon Labe https://britannia-uk.com/molon-labe

There's loads of premium art coins that carry any and every kind of design. It really comes down to how much you are willing to pay.

Examples:

https://www.powercoin.it/en/

The inferior man argues about his rights, while the superior man imposes duties upon himself.

He who has a why can bear almost any how.

Every act of beauty is a revolt against the modern world.

Do you know any UK dealer doing the zombucks coins ? Always fancied them but never seen them in the UK to buy at a reasonable price.

Thanks, I like to look for these things closer to home (UK) i dont have an issue with buying from overseas especially if i like it, its just as a hobby thing to spice things up a bit so stacking isnt really some key objective for me, just something to look at in my down time ha, quite like them Durga rounds.

Just wondering, is there other go to sites like silvertrader for artsy rounds?, UK Based btw.

Sadly I don't. I bought the 1st as a complete set from ebay and got the first 2 of the second set from a FB group. The 3rd is proving more difficult to source right now
