I don't think many on here collect that sort of stuff, and if any do I doubt they want to take an eleven hundred pound hair cut

haha loving the comments on this. Gotta try. I bought a similar set a few months ago at just above spot, the guy I sold it to asked if I can get this particular set. Worth a try eh!

In all honesty i am not sure why anyone would want to collect these other than to put them in the melting pot as an act of kindness.

Haha, its odd because they are actually very pretty sets and look cool when displayed. Some great designs etc. Although the only value to them really is the gold they are made from. Why on earth people buy direct at 1800 I will never know.

Guessing its like a legal scam. Hype them up and advertise them etc, find unwitting buyers. Eventually them buyers put them on ebay for a loss at about £800-1200 or send them to auction for an even bigger loss. Saw one go for 550, which would have been 675 after fees (still under spot).

The guy that bought from me said he wouldn't buy direct but he does like them, so buys them off ebay. Even traveled 3 hours to come and pick it up! So there must be interest in them from some people for them to be selling around 1000-1200
