I saw this on some local news site a few days ago and I'm disappointed that the BBC has also got suckered into publishing a free advert like that and included the nonsense quotes. It's not a particularly notable coin sale in the first place, and it's certainly not unusual for a gold coin to be worth a lot more than its face value.

Besides, there's surely no way it'll end up selling for as much as £125k?

I wouldn't want to buy it. And after the fees the owner will probably get their money back + a little.

I wouldn't of spent 75k in the first place.

The price will depend on more than 1 person wanting it and driving the price up.

I hope the owner gets what he wants out of it. We'll have to wait and see what it goes for.
