Hi anyone got much experience in purchasing pesos, german marks, roubles, francs, guilders, coronas etc - fractional sizes ideally is what im looking to gradually add into the collection. Ive checked bullion dealers, hatton garden/atkinsons/bullionbypost/chards etc and they are all a bit hit and miss with stock and premiums tbh. Anyone got any other suggestions for low premium access to these coins? Im in the UK if that makes a difference, cheers.

Hit and miss is a good description of availability anywhere you look. Yes, they come in and when they do I always see these going for under 5% premium (common years & restrikes at least). Almost bought a bundle today and I sold a bunch of these last week.

@DuncanWylieWilson usually has a selection of these in stock but as a specialist they are often scarcer or higher grade examples, and thus with due premium, but he may have some bullion ones?

Thank you for the tag.

I do sell the occasional bullion coin, such as common restrike 20 Francs and indeed that $20 double eagle earlier, but margins are so small in them that I don’t spend too much time on them.

I don’t get out of bed for 5% but when I do get them in I’m always happy to pass a bargain on.

Cheers!

Duncan.

@Auronum also gets in a fair amount of world gold.

There's also a fair amount that turns up at coin fairs, but it tends to be on the pricey side.

The Sovereign is the quintessentially British coin.  It has a German queen on the front, an Italian waiter on the back, and half of them were made in Australia.

Hatton Garden Metals has seem to have bought a few recently as they are showing as having over ten  20 Gold Marks at £397.

If interested I have a spare one and will beat their price.
