Silver is a commodity, a house is not. It's a completely different investment vehicle if you're lucky enough to be able to get one you don't live in. No commodity is a hedge I am actually bored with saying it now but once more.

Crude oil-up 66%, coffee-up 120%, natural gas-down 68%, wheat- up 90%, cotton-up 30%, corn-up 137%, sugar-up 113%.

Gold up 195%, silver up 195% and copper is up 395%.

Now what we need is some of the copper forum boys to come in and start throwing a wobbly that everyone else has backed the wrong horse. 

Don't sit on your metals hoping for it to be at the top when you retire, cash some in when you're happy with the return.
