Where to get good silver plate done?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I am looking to get some solver plate items, namely a tea set, sugar caddie, and champagne bucket to re-plate with silver.

1st) I need to know where to find a company that does this? Even if I ship it off in the U.K. somewhere.

2nd) What is good solver plating? Number of microns thick? How much should it be? How do you measure that?

I think the coffee pot is ok, just the rest.

See in pictures.

Hi,

A quick google for 'silver plating services' brings up a few, you'll have to get a quote specific to your items for the price.
I don't know what you are planning to do with them once re-plated but if you were planning to sell them, I don't think you will recoup the cost of re-plating on the tea/coffee service as nobody really wants them anymore.
The champagne bucket would sell though and (from the picture) it looks like it just needs a good polish.
