Request advise regarding gold Chinese panda

Greetings collectors and stackers,

I’m looking for advice regarding a recent purchase of mine. I recently bought a 1/10 oz 1989 large date Gold Chinese Panda coin. I bought it from a reputable German eBay dealer with an extensive sales history and impeccable reviews. I have scrutinized the coin with an 10x magnifying loupe and other than a tiny copper spot the minting appears to be in flawless condition. However the coin or rather the blank on which it was struck has issues. The image on the coin is off-centered. The rim of the coin is not evenly spaced all the way around. Plus it’s not evenly thick either. The thickness is not uniform all the way around. The area where the rim is widest the coin is thickest and visa versa. Since I’d rather not remove it from its seal I intend to have it XRF analyzed next time I’m in town. That way I can return it unaltered should the need arise.

I’m aware the Chinese mint has a stellar reputation when it comes to quality control. My question is, are misshaped/ off-center early panda coins a common thing or is there reason for concern? I really appreciate your input.

I’ve included an image for you consideration.
