2018 Four Generations of the Royal Family 5oz Silver Proof Coin

The obverse of the coin depicts the crowned old head of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, wearing the Royal Diamond Diadem crown worn for her Coronation (effigy known as the "Fifth Portrait").

Running continuously around the effigy is the monarch's legend and the date: ELIZABETH II · D · G · REG · F · D · 10 POUNDS ·. Translated from Latin: Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, Queen, Defender of the Faith, followed by the value and denomination in English.

In small letters below the head, the artist's initials J.C (for Jody Clark).

The reverse features, over crossed oak branches, the initials of the four generations of British royalty: E for Queen Elizabeth II, royally crowned with the Imperial State Crown; below that C for her son, His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales (Prince Charles) crowned with the prince's coronet; W for his son, His Royal Highness the Duke of Cambridge (Prince William) with a smaller coronet; below that, G for His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge.

Around, divided by the cross of the Imperial State Crown, the inscription FOUR GENERATIONS OF THE ROYAL FAMILY; below, the date · 2018 ·. The face value and denomination are on the obverse.
