New to Silver Stacking/Buying

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I am new to the world of Silver and glad to be a member of this forum. I am based in the UK.

I am a newbie so I have a question on purchasing the following item:

https://www.coininvest.com/en/silver-bars/fine-weight-1000g/1-kilo-silver-bar-valcambi/

This price is cheaper than other bullions, why is that? From the pictures I cannot see a serial number or code at the front of the bar, is there a reason for this or will the bar have this number when i receive it?

Is Valcambi worth collecting?

What are the differences between different manufactures like valcambi, metalor, pamp, umicore etc? Confused when buying.

Many Thanks

Moved to the welcome new member section of the forum as it’s your first post and also a welcome topic.

Note that you will likely have to pay import VAT + charges at the time of import, so add those onto the above. +20% + £8 to £16 admin charge roughly.

Hello and welcome to The Silver Forum :)

Thank you for your response. Okay it makes sense, is CoinInvest European based company?

Any recommendations for a UK bullion to purchase from? Some are pretty expensive.

Does it matter what make i buy such as PAMP, Metlor, Valcambi etc?

Yes, they are based in Germany.

See the Dealer Directory section of the forum for some dealers. (Link in header menu)

You can also buy and sell on the forum should you wish.

Hello and welcome!🤗

The price is gross, if you are adding VAT, shipping, etc, will be over £800.

You can find nice bars on forum for @£700-£715 posted. Also, nice coins/rounds at @£24-£25/oz.

My advice is to upgrade your membership to have instant access to any sale posts on Buy/Sale section.

Happy stacking!🤗

P.S.: To answer at your question: "Is Valcambi worth collecting?

What are the differences between different manufactures like valcambi, metalor, pamp, umicore etc? Confused when buying." ,

Usually, kilo bars are mostly for stacking silver weight at the lowest price per oz, not for collecting.

Only very few brands or types are highly collectible, having a higher premium than regular brands. But it is another league and to collect them you need knowledge and money.

Hello! Welcome to the forum.

If you are new to the world of silver then take your time and do a little research. The forum is a good place to start and if anything is unclear, then simply post a question.

Many of us on TSF started out like yourself without much knowledge on silver or other precious metals. Collectively, there is a wealth of experience on the forum which I sure the experienced members can guide along your journey into silver.
