Has anyone here got hold of the Gold Libertad?  What do you think of it?  

 

Also what is the yearly mintage of the 1oz Gold Libertad.

 

I was looking on the web but those very low mintages look very suspect to me, any help please.

My opinion , no great resale value in 1oz gold bullion libertad coin, very little resale value in pre 2010 1oz gold proof libertads, very large chance of making a good profit on post 2011 1/4, 1/10, 1/20 oz proof gold libertads , grab them when you see them

Yes, indeed the Centenario is an amazing coin to hold! Most new bullion coins are "safe queens", only to be handled with gloves or put in capsules. The 50 pesos looks & feels like it was meant to ride in saddlebags and handled by bandidos!

Just pre-ordered this week a couple of 2015 1 oz gold BU Libertads. One for me and one for a fellow collector on the Forum. Proofs not available yet, and the allocation is oversold - according to Lois & Don Bailey in Texas. Should get them in April.

My budget couldn't stand the 1oz but I did pre-order the 1/20th 1/10th and 1/4 which I plan to send to NGC for grading

I checked on these a few weeks ago and they were "our choice", all 2008 (I think) and had marks of various kinds.

Managed to pick up 1/2 once proof last year before mintages were known from apmex ,Coininvest normally have them in BU for a short time when they come out,have seen them on gouldpension dutch site also,there is talk of design change in the next couple of years
