Coin shops in Swansea - The mumbles

Recommended Posts

Langland Bay Antiques. Try ringing first, 07824346926. The owner, Jeff is rather knowledgeable with coins and enjoys a good conversation on the topic. Although he doesn't typically stock them in the shop and I'm not sure how competitive his prices are. His particular antique interest is Georgian silver

Hi All,

Hope you're well.

Any coin shops or local antique shops or other places to visit in Swansea please?

Staying near the Mumbles beach.

Thanks

The Mumbles?

I tried it once, and nobody could understand a word I said, and vice versa.

If you do call in, ask him if he is interested in a few boxfuls of Georgian silver cutlery and flatware.

Thanks, actually this was the only antiques shop I had on my radar, I just turned up and was rushed because of parking was limited to 1 hour. Met Jeff and his wife and was very welcomed. Great little shop they have, I was taken aback by all the information and he was a store of knowledge, especially numismatic sovereign coins. We were talking so much that I forgot to ask to look at the sovereigns he had in the window display, lol. The 1 oz bullion silver were competitively priced for singles. Will be sure to visit again on my next visit and be armed with knowledge of prices for crowns, one dollar coins and sovereigns.

Also the chippy next door does some nice fresh fish and chips.

Managed to get some 2 more 50p jubilee coins at the post office too 🤣, thanks to a lovely elderly gentleman who had a massive smile after searching for them in the change.

Great little afternoon out at the mumbles 😀, highly recommended.
