Gold Sovereign or Saudi Arabian Guinea?

Hi all.

Looking to get into stacking gold coins. I am currently looking at getting either a couple of Gold Sovereigns or a couple of Saudi Arabian Guineas.  From what I have researched both coins contain the same amount of 22ct gold - 0.2354 troy ounces - however the Saudi Guineas command slightly higher prices. Having read a book on the History of Saudi Arabia I do feel like going with the Guineas due to their history but would like to hear what other more experience members have to say.

In either case I am looking to hold onto the coins for a good few years.

Cheers!

There are fake sovereigns and there are fake Saudi Guineas about but its that much harder to spot a fake Guinea for most of us .

What do you think the chances are of getting a fake would be if I was to purchase one from a reputable dealer. I understand that they sell far more Sovs than Guineas and that it would be easier for a fake Guinea to slip through. Too high to chance you reckon?

They will slip past the dealers checks as they look almost identical some have copy stamp markings others are slightly less crisp in their strike . Someone on the forum purchased one from a dealer and later found out it was a copy.
