Happy New Year all.

I'm considering bidding on a coin at Heritage Auction and I'm based in the UK.

What fees would I pay extra to the postage cost and the buyers premium, when the coin reaches the UK.

Thanks in advance for any information given

Thanks

Arbkev

Depends on what it is. If it is a rare collectable coin you could get it at a rate of 5% VAT with a specific commodity code @Pete can probably help more on this.

If it is a gold coin and meets certain minimum purity thresholds it should be 0% VAT added.

If it is just bullion silver type coins then it will be +20% VAT.

Deepening on the price it might be hit with import duty of 2.5%

I am no expert, the above is best guestimate

In theory this should be 0%

But there is a good chance you will get stung and have to claim it back.
