I’m like you with silver then onto gold. Still buy bits of silver here and there but mainly gold now. 1oz brits post 2012 and Full sovereigns but will buy half sovs, 1/10, half oz, etc. Vat free and capital gains tax free for savings and selling purposes which always helps keeping the tax man away. I like 1oz krugerrands which are really nice and I have a couple of 5g bars I bought when I was buying silver and could only afford those bits of gold roughly 10 years ago. They’ve doubled + in price which is nice. I’m just looking at weight really now for the long haul. Better than bank savings as having physical focuses me on saving and having it to hand if needed in an emergency. I also have two kids with the same birth dates of 07 and 10 and was thinking of date coins but I don’t think I’ll bother and will just keep stacking as much as I can. They’d spend regardless of dates I’d bet. I do limit an allowance every month so not to get over addicted which can be hard especially when bits come up on the forum aswell I want. I’d always buy from reputable dealers and not eBay etc. Have fun whichever you go with and there is plenty of advice on here to help you out. Saying all that though, Backyard Bullion on here does a ridiculously nice silver chess set with board which I will buy one day!! Happy Stacking!

As an easy investment item you can't go wrong with sovs as long as you price them decently they are a very easy move along item. I've put some very damaged ones up before at little to no premium and sold them in literally seconds. What I've learnt is everyone has different tastes but if your looking at purely investments go for what the market wants

After listening to all the previous advice, this is the first of my planned selection of 1/10ths. Thanks to all.

It's very pretty, but it ain't very big...

For the sovereign guys - I'll get some eventually!

Can’t go wrong either way. It’s a start. 👍
