This has sentiment value as it was gifted as something old on our wedding day 14 years ago but the funny thing is we had a son called Jordan who was 18 months old at the time then we had another son who we called Nile. Our 3rd son we was going to call Danube but we thought that it would just get shortened to Dan so we called him River Danube.

We picked this name because the Danube is 2 intertwining rivers as we had 2 boys with river names.

Then we find out that Istros is the old Greek name for the lower river Danube.

Yes I will treasure it.😁

Talking of treasure I've been keeping my silver coins in capsules and I keep thinking of just buying cheap bullion and a treasure chest to keep it all in.☠️

Hi, today I received this coin which my Dad was skeptical of. If I can prove its authenticity I may look to purchase this from him.

I have the information it was sold with. attached below.

I would be very interested in any initial thoughts.

Hi @Troy77

This type of coin is not really in my field of interest,  but i can tell you the E bay seller  bidancient (aka EFTIS) is on The Ancient Coin forum list of notorious fake sellers. So maybe your dad is right to be skeptical

Thanks for this, they mention that you should get the coin checked out by the local museum and they will refund if found to be fake. That could be a bit of a giveaway.
