Shipping Silver from UK to Germany

Hi,

Can anyone recommend a courier to ship a 1kg silver coin (that has a pounds sterling face value) from UK to Germany with appropriate insurance cover?

From reading the small print it seems many couriers will not carry items that are deemed "legal tender". As anyone who has ever tried to spend a Scottish tenner in London knows that term is fraught with difficulties!

Royal Mail International Tracked and Signed will cover precious metals - only up to £250 insurance per package though.

I started a thread on this a while back, please see the link below in terms of Parcelforce response to me a while back.  

But I can say the I have successfully shipped many coins to the EU using either Royal Mail International Tracked and Signed for smaller items and Parcelforce on three occasions for weights of 1Kg and above to- Germany, Netherlands, Austria, Slovenia, Norway, as well as to USA, Japan & Singapore without issue, and all to Forum members.
