Be fair - i for one don't believe the conspiracy theory that a bunch of Saudis with Stanley knives flew planes into the Twin Towers and turned them to dust. i never believed in weapons of mass destruction or that Assad was dropping poison gas on his people. i never believed carbon dioxide was causing global warming. Indeed i never believed in almost all the conspiracy theories that appear on the telly which we are expected to believe.

That would be a fair retort if you applied your statement to climate change, evolution, ect but you do not, so the point stands. You argue for acceptance of one view over another simply because it is the mainstream view.

I heard a theory that gold is actually really common and that if you drill 100 foot down the whole core of the earth is gold. Apparently this is why the government don't let us dig for treasure. They sell us common rocks for over a thousand pounds an ounce and we don't even know it. Plastic is actually really rare though which is why they keep asking us to recycle it so they can control the supply. Jokes on them though, I'm stocking up on used biros at work.
