I know that the 2oz and 10oz silver BU versions of the first coin in this very popular series are today commanding quite a hefty premium, but am less familiar with the current prices that the quarter ounce gold one currently achieving - your thoughts and comments would be much appreciated :)

The White lion of Mortimer and other qtr ouncers are £346 each but the lion and griffin are £356... With GoldSilver.BE.      hope that helps

Yes, although remember that with dealers like gs.be you have to take into consideration delivery costs to the UK too... so, having considered that, then the cheapest prices for these 1/4 oz gold pieces are at least £360, usually more.

If the cheapest ones in the series are £360+. then the lion usually costs quite a bit more. I've seen prices of over £400 being asked for it, easily.

Aside from the lion, it is interesting to note that the most expensive 1/4 oz gold beasts on the Royal Mint Bullion website are the Falcon and the Bull! For the Falcon that's quite surprising since it only came out this year.

Very true!

I’m seriously regretting not having picked up a Falcon from The Buckingham Collection - only a couple of months back, they had them for sale at just £279, including P&P!

Wow, I didn't know about that one! That would have been a bargain, indeed.

I also think that, for now, the White Lion of Mortimer should be getting some of the highest secondary market prices of the series (aside from the lion of England), because they only came out when the gold prices were high already... so no-one was able to buy them at cheaper prices, and would therefore be unlikely to sell them for less than they paid for them. You won't get them for under £360 I think.
