Selling Date Runs

As @Shinus73 says. It all depends on what the potential buyer wants. If they are starting out a collection then the date run may look more appealing but if they already have a collection then you will get better prices on the singles alone

This is the general rule, as stated above. On the other hand it is all about timing and finding the right buyer at the right time. But you need to have time for that.

I recently sold a full set that I had for sale for a couple of months. I am very happy that I didn't have to break it in the end, although I knew I could possibly get 10-15% more if I was selling separately.

I agree with everything everyone has said. It is not easy to sell a date run, but I believe that it is worth waiting to do so. The time, effort and energy needed to break up and sell, is not always worth it for the extra cash you get selling things separately. If you need to sell, split the collection, if you do not need to sell, just advertise it and let time pass. Sooner or later someone will be interested. Just my opinion!

With a slight bias / wishful thinking due to the date runs he wants to sell 😁

Very well said. Of course. Though there is an offer on that collection and payment is pending.

Thanks for pointing out my bias!!!  🤣🤣🤣
