NEW COIN ST KITTS & NEVIS

I quite like this new coin, quite an original looking design, and not silly priced (from here anyway), it will probably look even nicer in real life as I think Martin uses my old Nokia phone camera from the 1990's

I bought some.  It's a nice coin.  2nd in the series.  Six more to go for a total of eight.

It's a series of eight coins issued by the East Caribbean Central Bank.  Each coin highlights a different island or pair of islands.  The first one came out a few months before the St. Kitts.  It highlighted Antigua and Barbuda.  It was called the Rum Runner and had a sailing ship and stacked rum barrels on the reverse.

From APMEX site:

"The Brown Pelican will be the second issue in the new EC8 coin program. Issued from the country of St. Kitts and Nevis, this coin is the second of eight releases in this historic series featuring low mintages and rich designs.

The EC8 (Eastern Caribbean Bank) program will consist of four coins minted in 2018 on behalf of each of the eight Caribbean island members that comprise the ECCB - Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Commonwealth of Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The ECCB is the official issuer of the Eastern Caribbean Dollar - the Currency of the EC8 2018 Coin Program."

 

Since they say four coins in 2018, I'm assuming the other four will be released next year.

APMEX is taking pre-orders now for the third coin in the series for the island of Dominica.  Coins will ship on or about August 23rd.

Ooh I aint seen that one yet, thanks I will check their site out, even though I dont use them because they are all the way away in the USA, I love looking at their excellent website.
