ASE's.... Is it just me?

I always weigh my coins when they arrive just to check and I've noticed that all my American Eagles are always well overweight.

Supposedly they are meant to be 31.1 g the same as every other .999 1 oz coin, but I regularly get ASE's that are as much as 31.6g. Now I don't mind getting a tad extra silver, but has anyone else noticed this?

You are guaranteed to get 1 troy ounce of silver. Remember that 999 is very close to pure, but it's not completely pure.

No. 999 is classes as pure silver. The coin does not have to weight 0.1% more to be classes as a full Troy ounce. At 999 it can weigh exactly 1 Troy ounce because 999 is classes as pure silver.

If going but that definition of pure then nothing will be pure unless you produce and keep it in a complete vacuum.
